Alain Robert also known as the French Spiderman has once again terrified onlookers and challenge the authorities with his attempts at climbing a skyscraper in the middle of New York.
Alain Robert chose The New York Times building located in Manhattan as his target of attack this time and was able to successfully scale the building although upon reaching the top he was handcuffed and taken into custody by the police.
The French Spiderman chose to connect his climb the the celebration of World Environment Day and said that he was “climbing with my bare hands as a peaceful way to create support…for global warming”. Apparently he is distressed by the the increase in greenhouse gas emissions and wanted to bring attention to it.
Robert has been scaling large structures around the world and apparently found it an easy 52 stories to climb on the New Yrk Times building. He does not use a rope, harness or parachute when he climbs, only his bare hands. When asked why he chose the Times building he replied that is was a green building which seems to tie in with his whole environmental theme for the day.
He may have made his statement but Alain Robert will still have to answer to the authorities in New York City, he is facing several criminal charges.
