Update: According to the preliminary report from the medical examiner, David Jacobs death is being ruled as a suicide. He died of gunshot wounds to his stomach and head. Amanda Jo Earhart-Savell’s cause of death has not yet been determined. The investigation continues.

David Jacobs who gained a reputation as a convicted steriods dealer was found dead in his home on Thursday. Cause of death was by gunshot. Also found dead was Amanda Jo Earhart-Savell. The police were at the residence at the request of relatives of Amanda Jo Earhart-Savell who were concerned about her whereabouts and were making a welfare check.

Police detectives were not releasing any information about the case at this time inlcuding whether or not a weapon was found in the vincinity of the bodies, if it was a double homicide or a possible murder-suicide.

Recently in May the deceased, David Jacobs, met with NFL security officials to give them details and names of players that he said had purchased steroids from him. He claimed to have sold thousands of dollars worth of the steroids to Matt Lehr a former player for the Dallas Cowboys.

There is a lot of controversy over the use of legal steriods in the major sports leagues. You might be surprised at how many people use them in non professional sports training. People that are just looking to improve their performance, get that extra edge. Of course, there are always side effects to be aware of and anyone that is looking to use legal steriods should make themselves fully informed as to the potential side effects and consquences of using the drugs.

We’ll have to wait until all the details emerge in the death of David Jacobs and see if there is any connection to his participation in the selling of steriods to professional athletes.
